Supervised contact services are designed to prioritise a child’s safety and wellbeing while supporting appropriate family connections. Services are delivered in a structured and professional manner to reduce stress and minimise exposure to conflict.
Each family’s circumstances are different, and services are tailored to meet the needs of the child. The information below offers general guidance and may not address every individual situation.
Do I need a Family Court order to access your services?
No. A Family Court order is not required to access supervised contact services or to make an enquiry. Families and professionals can contact us directly to discuss their circumstances.
How long before I can have a visit? What is the process?
Once the referral has been received intake meetings will be offered to both parties to develop the Contact Plan.
Intake meetings are undertaken on the telephone.
The contact plan is developed in line with the needs of the child and any Court directions, Family Violence Restraining Orders, conduct agreements or Parenting plans/agreements.
Typically once the contact plan has been agreed visit usually commence within 2 weeks
Who supervises contact visits?
All supervised contact visits are undertaken by qualified and experienced professional supervisors. Supervisors are trained in child-focused and trauma-informed practice and hold current National Police Clearances and Working with Children Checks.
Where do supervised contact visits take place?
Visits may take place in family homes, community spaces, or other agreed locations, depending on the needs of the child and family.
Can reports be provided after supervised contact visits?
Yes. Factual reports based on supervisor observations can be provided upon request and are completed in line with professional standards.
How much will this cost?
